Sophie Griffiths on her new EP Note To Self

To celebrate the release of her new EP Note To Self, Essex based singer, songwriter Sophie Griffiths joined us for a track by track of the whole EP. We talked about all sorts from the inspiration behind singles like Power Cut and My Own Fate to the personal stories that brought Modern Love, Mother’s Daughter and Middle Ground to life. With musical parents and born on a tour bus, it’s no surprise Alyssa Bonagura has music in her bones! We caught up with Alyssa part way through her UK tour which has already seen her share a stage with Piano Man Billy Joel and country star Tenille Arts! The title track from her recent EP Fly With Me made our first ever A-List and it was great to chat with Alyssa after the release of her storming new single “I’m On It” and just ahead of a live acoustic EP.

Southend’s BLAB ahead of her storming set at The Ironworks

Ahead of a storming live set at The Ironworks in Southend, it was great to chat with BLAB all about her music. From some of her earliest songwriting memories and learning the violin to playing Arctic Monkeys on the ukulele and eventually bypassing the orchestral experience to fully embrace the guitar. We also talked about the Age Gracefully remix by Mike Darrah and BLAB’s next live performance alongside Southend’s Asylums & A Cause In Distress on 10th November at The Old Blue Last in London.

Strictly Speaking with The Great Leslie

Great by name, great by nature; The Great Leslie have been gaining momentum as one of Essex’s most exciting local bands in years. They released their debut EP, The End and The Beginning, earlier this year and are gearing up to drop their second EP, 21st Century Problems soon. It was great to catch up with the band all about what’s been happening since they dropped their first EP, their new single “My Left Eye” and all sorts of other things too including and why Ryan’s recent experimentation with a croissant almost caused an international incident.
